Mensa IQ Testing

In the summer term, 30 of our most able key stage 3 pupils were selected by their subject teachers to take a Mensa IQ test. British Mensa is an organisation which has more than 20,000 members from all walks of life with IQs in the top 2%. IQ stands for intelligence quotient, and an IQ test is an attempt to measure human intelligence. This refers to quickness of a person’s mental comprehension (or mental agility).

Success!

The results from the Mensa testing were outstanding. All 30 pupils tested had a much higher than average IQ score, and 13 of our pupils were offered a British Mensa Membership as they have IQs in the top 1-2% of the country! This is an outstanding achievement which has now been recognised by a prestigious and esteemed establishment. As a school, we will build on this success and continue to encourage and challenge our pupils.
