Miss V. Gowan (Head of School)

Dear Parents/Carers,

It has been another busy yet enjoyable week at the Academy.

A number of pupils across year groups have enjoyed trips out of school – including Mr Kenny taking Year 10 to Winstanley College to discover how mathematics can be applied in real life on Wednesday.

We had a spot check on equipment on Thursday morning and I was delighted to see the vast majority of our pupils arriving at school fully equipped with all the key items and ready to learn. Members of the senior team have been visiting Year 8 lessons across the week and it has been pleasing to see that pupils are responding well to the teachers’ high expectations in class.
Year 7 Parents Evening was very well attended last night and it was a pleasure to hear from parents how well they feel their children have settled in during their first year at
the school. I spent some time looking at the Year 7 data reports collected by parents last night – and the amount of ‘green’ on these reports is strong evidence of just how well these pupils are performing as a year group.

Finally, can I take this opportunity to remind you that we have a staff INSET day on Friday 31st March – therefore school is closed to pupils.

With best wishes for the weekend

Enjoy your weekend

Yours sincerely,

Miss V Gowan,
Head of School
