Dear Parent/Carer,

Once again this year, our annual Celebration of Achievement evening was a tremendous success. It was a magnificent occasion which saw over 300 pupils receiving prizes for their various distinctions. Our Guest Speaker was Andy Grant, an Iraq and Afghanistan War Veteran, a former Royal Marine Commando, an amputee and a motivational speaker. He delivered an inspiring speech which encouraged our pupils to make the most of their opportunities in life. We were also delighted that the Mayor of Knowsley, Frank Walsh and the Chairman of the Dean Trust, Brian Rigby, took time out of their busy schedules to join us.

The programme for the evening contained a formidable range of achievements, including the recognition of the 13 pupils who passed the Mensa IQ Test. Celebration of Achievement evening always makes me feel proud of our school community: so many people have achieved so much and such great care and effort is made to recognise this. I am very grateful to everyone who contributed to the evening.

Our Autumn Term has got off to a racing but productive start, with a range of information evenings for parents in our school community. Please note that next Thursday, Miss Morrison and her team will be holding our Year 11 Launch Evening at 6.00 pm. This is an important evening that gives Year 11 pupils and their parents information about the year ahead and how best to prepare to be successful at GCSE. We look forward to seeing as many Year 11 pupils and their parents/carers as possible.

Enjoy your weekend.

Yours sincerely,

Miss V Gowan
