Miss V. Gowan (Headteacher)

Dear Parents/Carers,

On behalf of the staff and pupils at LDA, I would like to express our sympathy to all who have been affected by the terrible events which took place in Manchester on Monday evening. Our school community has come together at this difficult time and we have ensured that our pupils who were at the concert (all of whom returned safely) have received appropriate care and pastoral support in school. We observed a minute’s silence on Thursday morning as a mark of respect and assemblies are being held with pupils to ensure that whilst we are not shying away from tackling difficult issues in school, we also focus on the many positive messages of hope and bravery in uncertain times.

Can I please take this opportunity to wish you a peaceful and restful half term break with friends and family, we are looking forward to an aspirational final half term to end the academic year. Year 11 exams will continue and Year 10 and Key Stage 3 assessments will be taking place.
We will also be enjoying Rewards Day, The Active Challenge on June 27th and the Festival of Sport.

Yours sincerely,

Miss V Gowan,
Headteacher
