Miss V. Gowan (Headteacher), NPQH

Dear Parent/Carer,

I hope you enjoyed a restful Easter break with family and friends.  Please be aware there are two vacancies for the position of Parent Governor at LDA. On behalf of Chair of Governors Cllr Graham Morgan, I will be providing information on the role on the school website or you can contact my PA, Miss Ierston on the school number to request further information.

I am delighted to tell you we have had a fantastic start to the summer term. Pupils have returned keen and ready to learn and I have really enjoyed visiting lessons across subject areas over the past few days. I am already seeing our pupils making rapid progress.

The next few weeks for Year 11 are absolutely crucial. Some formal examinations have already started and many coursework deadlines are already upon us. There are extra classes on every evening after school and staff are always available to offer support and guidance. Parents please encourage your child to be revising at home as well. They will certainly have a long summer break to enjoy once the examination season is over.

Finally I am pleased to inform you our remodelled science area has now been completed and pupils will be starting to have their science lessons in there from next week. I will share some photographs with you of our new space in my
newsletter next Friday.

I hope we are all able to enjoy a sunny weekend!

Miss V Gowan
