It has been a week of high aspiration at LDA. On Monday we welcomed Barbara Firth to the school through an organisation called NACE. We received very positive feedback from Mrs Firth on how our pupils are being stretched and challenged in lessons.
On Tuesday we were privileged to host a Multi-Academy Trust event led by Regional Schools Commissioner Vicky Beer, and on Wednesday I was delighted to show
Knowsley’s new Director for Children’s Services, Collette Dutton around the school.
Year 11 Parents Evening was well attended last night and pupils and parents were able to gain a valuable insight into their progress and areas for development from their teachers, in advance of the mock examinations which take place in December.
I have visited lessons across the school this week and have been so impressed with the way children are responding to teachers’ questions and how they are increasingly self confident in terms of leading the learning. Finally, a reminder that it is the final week for shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child to be brought in to school. The
display is filling up nicely. I look forward to hearing our final number from Mrs Ellis and her team over the coming days.
With kind regards.
Miss V Gowan, NPQH
