Lord Derby Academy

Miss V. Gowan (Headteacher), NPQH

Dear Parent/Carer,

As you are aware, I spent the majority of last week at Ashton on Mersey, one of our Dean Trust schools located in Trafford.  I had a really informative week and I was made to feel extremely welcome by the staff and pupils at the school. During the week I spent time meeting key staff and governors and I introduced myself to all the pupils in assemblies. I also spent time in lessons and I talked to pupils about their learning. It was a very valuable experience and I am grateful to have had such a fantastic opportunity. Here are a couple of pictures of my time at the school:

I have also really enjoyed being back at LDA this week.  I have shown a number of visitors around our school.  One of these visitors was a headteacher who last visited the school 3 years ago.  At the end of the visit he wrote: ‘What a complete transformation!  Well done to the Senior Team, staff and pupils, on changing the ethos and culture of Lord Derby academy. Brilliant standards. Well done everyone!’

I have visited over 30 lessons in school this week and I have seen pupils on task and learning well in every session.
I thank you for your continued support and I wish you a restful weekend.

Miss V Gowan,
Headteacher, NPQH
